Neighboring businesses burglarized

January 30, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

WYANDOTTE — Two commercial burglaries took place at adjacent buildings Monday.
Quint Plumbing and Heating, 4144 Sixth, and Temperature Control, 4105 Seventh, were burglarized sometime during the night before 7 a.m. Monday.

In both instances the suspect cut the lock to the gates and entered company vans on the business lots.
Three work vehicles were broken into on the Quint lot. The suspect broke out the side glass doors of all them and stole $20,000 worth of power tools inside. It will cost approximately $100 to repair each van.

A work van on the Temperature Control lot also was broken into and the items inside were taken, including $20,000 in power tools. Damage to the van is estimated at $2,000.

Police say the suspect apparently walked the alley between the two businesses to gain access to the gates. They believe the suspect threw all the stolen tools over the fences onto Sixth to a possible waiting vehicle.

The owner of Quint found a pair of bolt cutters and a battery charger near his gate.
