DEARBORN — Two new directors recently were appointed to the HFCC Foundation Board of Directors.
Dearborn Heights resident Nabil H. Fakih and Detroit resident James P. Allen Sr. will serve three-year terms on the board, which comprises 26 community and business leaders who provide oversight and support for the college’s private fundraising efforts.
Fakih, a registered pharmacist, is sole proprietor of Dearborn Heights Pharmacy and owns and operates four additional pharmacies in Canton Township, Redford, Novi and Westland. He is a graduate of HFCC and of the Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy of Wayne State University. He and his wife, Dr. Mona Fakih, have two children. His community and professional activities include serving on the Civil Rights Commission of Dearborn Heights and as a member of the Michigan Pharmacists’ Association. He also is founder of the Arab-American Pharmacy Association.
James P. Allen, Sr. is a principal with the Detroit law firm of Allen Brothers Attorneys and Counselors PLLC. He received a bachelor’s degree and law degree from the University of Michigan; he also holds a master’s degree in industrial relations from Wayne State. Allen is chairman of the American Arab Chamber of Commerce and has three sons and a daughter.
“We welcome both Mr. Allen and Mr. Fakih to the Foundation Board of Directors,” board Chairwoman Millie Elston said. “We are indeed fortunate to have them join us in our efforts to raise charitable support for HFCC.
“We look forward to, with their help, enhancing our fund-raising program to help meet the needs of HFCC, its students and the community.”
