DEARBORN — Henry Ford Community College’s Theater Program presents its summer production, “The Playboy of the Western World,” on select dates from Aug. 13 to 23 at Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave. Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students with identification and $6 per ticket for groups of 10 or more.
Show times are 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays. For ticket reservations, please call the HFCC Theater program at 313-845-9817.
“The Playboy of the Western World,” written by John Millington Synge, takes an ironic look at working class Irish life, following a young farmer, Christy Mahon, who becomes a local romantic hero after boasting of killing his father, only to have his luck change when his father actually appears.
The play is directed by award-winning director Chris Bremer.
Also, in the fall HFCC’s Theatre for Young Audiences Program will present “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens from Nov. 13 to Dec. 6. There will be weekend performances for the public and special weekday matinees for Wayne County school children.
For more information about the plays or HFCC’s theater program, call (313) 845-9817 or e-mail [email protected] For more information about HFCC, go to the Web site www.hfcc.edu.
