New site focuses on local services

WYANDOTTE — The former city Web site provider has created a new, locally based site.
Rich Cieslowski, owner of RSC Productions in Wyandotte, recently launched his new site, EverythingWyandotte.com.
He had provided the city’s official Web site service for 10 years until April, when city officials voted to switch providers. His new site, launched July 4, is meant to promote local goods and services.
“I was surprised when I was researching and developing this site that there are 750-plus businesses and organizations in our community,” Cieslowski said. Businesses promoted on the site range from retailers, restaurants, manufacturers, and wholesalers.
“There is every possible business and service that you could imagine,” he said, “and there is almost no reason to go outside our city to hire anybody or do anything for us.
“Hopefully this new Web site is going to give us as citizens and visitors in town an access and source to find these businesses.”
The site also features articles about events throughout the city and coupons for local businesses. He said he hopes the site will be a valuable resource for business information, community news, event information and more as the months go on.
The site’s purpose is to keep residents’ money in the community by having them “think locally,” according to Cieslowski.
In the next few weeks he plans to post tips to — and statistics about — buying local goods and services.
“It will be a win-win for the businesses, the community, and everyone,” he said.
