DEARBORN – The next set of four free outdoor music concerts happening in the city take place on Thursday and Friday, and July 29 and 30.
Jaki G and Legasy will perform from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at The Ritz-Carlton, Dearborn, as part of the “Motown in the Courtyard” concert series. The Sun Messengers will perform from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. July 30.
Radio Active will perform from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday at Muirhead Plaza, located next to Bryant Branch Library, 22100 Michigan Ave. as part of the West Dearborn Downtown Development Authority (WDDDA) concert series.
David Myles & The Mylestones will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. July 29 in City Hall Park as part of the “Jazz on the Ave” concert series.
Dearborn Traditional Ensemble will perform at 7:30 p.m. July 30 in City Hall Park as part of the Music Under The Stars concert series
MOTOWN IN THE COURTYARD
“Motown in the Courtyard” is offered at The Ritz-Carlton from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday evenings through Sept. 17 (excluding Sept. 3). Entrance and parking are free; no reservations are required.
Future concerts in the series are: Horizon on Aug. 6, Mel Ball and Colours on Aug. 13, The Kimmie Horn Show on Aug. 20, KGB on Aug. 27, Desire on Sept. 10 and The Kimmie Horn Show on Sept. 17.
WDDDA SERIES
The WDDDA-sponsored concerts are offered on select Friday evenings at Muirhead Plaza.
Future concerts in the series are: Merge (hits from the 1950s to contemporary times), 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 14; The Cleary Quartet, 7 to 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 21; and Thornetta Davis (blues), 6-9 p.m. on Aug. 28.
JAZZ ON THE AVE
Sponsored by the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority and Smooth Jazz V 98.7, “Jazz on the Ave” concerts take place in City Hall Park from 7-9 p.m. on select Wednesday evenings.
Future concerts in the series are: Jessie Coleman on Aug. 12, Penny Wells on Aug. 19 and The Brothers Groove on Aug. 26.
MUSIC UNDER THE STARS
Music Under The Stars concerts are offered at 7:30 p.m. on select Thursday evenings at venues across town.
