Persian rugs taken in burglary
More than $11,000 in high living accoutrements was taken in a burglary in the 7000 block of Bingham between 1 and 9 p.m. July 29.
Among the missing items are two Persian rugs valued at $5,000; a $4,500 Rolex watch, 10 men’s suits, a digital camcorder and a laptop computer.
The homeowner called police when he arrived at his house and found the back door and a bedroom window open, knowing he had shut them when he left. A neighbor reported seeing a suspicious navy blue older model car outside of the house at around 4:30 p.m., but had no further information.
Stolen F-150 plows through security gate at Dearborn Assembly
A Ford Harley-Davidson model F-150 drove through a security gate at Dearborn Assembly, 3001 Miller, shortly after the vehicle rolled off the assembly line June 29.
The security worker at the gate reported that the truck, driven by a black man wearing a green safety vest, was driving about 35 m.p.h. when it burst through, bending the gate in the process. The truck last was seen heading south on Schaefer.
Cash, laptop stolen
A laptop computer and $800 cash were stolen from a house in the 4600 block of Pardee between 8-9 p.m. Aug. 3.
Police believe the burglar entered the house through an unlocked bedroom window.
Beer bandit makes off with two cases
A man believed to be in his mid-20s walked out of Citgo, 25412 Van Born, without paying for two cases of beer.
The store clerk said the suspect is white, has blonde hair and was wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans. He last was seen running north on Gulley.
