HEIGHTS — The Parks and Recreation Department and the Suburban Mobility Authority for Regional Transportation are sponsoring a trip to the Fisher Theatre to see “Jersey Boys” in a 1 p.m. Jan. 20 performance. The 2006 Tony Award-winning musical about rock ’n’ roll Hall of Famers Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons is the story of how four blue-collar kids became one of the greatest successes in pop music history.
Cost is $105 for Dearborn Heights residents age 55 or older, $110 for nonresident club members; checks or money orders may be made payable to the city of Dearborn Heights. Registrations will be taken through Friday at the Eton Senior Center, 4900 Pardee, or the Berwyn Senior Center, 26155 Richardson, and is on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost also includes dinner from a preselected menu at the American-Polish Century Club after the show. Trip organizers point out that even though the show is not until 2010, payment must be made by September 2009. Departure from the Eton Center is at 11:45 a.m. and from the Berwyn Center at noon. Approximate return time is 7:30 p.m.
