Camp Dearborn completes busy camping season with End of Sweet Summer Bash

August 25, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN, Mich. – Camp Dearborn’s official camping season will come to an end Labor Day Weekend, but not without a party.
The Classics All Occasion Band will provide live entertainment for campers at the end-of-season Canteen Dance on Sunday, September 6, from 8 -11 p.m.
Camp Dearborn, a popular family camping destination for many in southeast Michigan, runs its full activity season from the last week of June through Labor Day each year. Camping with limited activity is available as early as May 1, and runs through October.
Traditionally, the Canteen Dance, with music provided by a DJ, is a favorite gathering spot each evening for “in-season” campers.
At the final dance of the season on September 6, The Classics will provide entertainment that draws from decades of musical favorites.
The Canteen will be open, with food available for purchase until 10 p.m. Day visitors are welcome to stay for the band performance.
The Camp gate opens to the public at 7 a.m. Admission at the gate is $4 per car for residents of Dearborn or Milford, and $6 per car for all others.
Season passes are available for frequent visitors at the rate of $20 for residents of Dearborn or Milford and $30 for the general public.
More information about Camp Dearborn and scheduled events can be found at www.campdearborn.com, or by calling the Dearborn Recreation Department at 943-2350, or the Milford Camp Dearborn office at 248-684-6000.
