City native appointed its HR manager

September 12, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

ALLEN PARK – Gretchen Leskosky will be the city’s new human resources manager.

Her appointment was announced by Mayor Gary Burtka at the Aug. 25 City Council meeting. Leskosky, a city native, will take over the responsibilities of Patricia Swartout, who retired July 17.

Leskosky received a bachelor of political science degree from Bowling Green State University in 2006, and will receive a master’s degree in labor and industrial relations from Wayne State University in May. She has been working as a human resource professional in the automotive industry since January 2007.

The vacant position within the city was an opportunity to work in government, which is where she said her passion and education began.

“I believe that Gretchen will be a great asset to the administration and the residents we serve,” Burtka said. “Her combination of education and experience is perfect for the duties she will be conducting at City Hall. “She is a welcomed member to the Allen Park team.”
