TAYLOR — The annual Turn Off the Violence family event sponsored by the Rotary Club of Taylor is scheduled for 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Road.
The free event typically draws hundreds of people and is meant to get families away from the television, out of the house and into a family setting with positive activities.
The day includes food, music, face painting, puppets, a moonwalk, free toothbrushes from Dr. Steven Shwedel and staff. Participating are the Taylor Sportsplex and the city’s Golf, Fire and Police departments, its K-9 unit, as well as Taylor Lanes.
Ronald McDonald also is scheduled to make a special appearance.
A variety of nonprofit organizations will be on hand to distribute literature and answer questions.
