Public invited to attend Oct. 10 Dearborn Fire Department open house

DEARBORN, Mich. – The public is invited to attend the Dearborn Fire Department’s annual open house, taking place from noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10. The open house will be held at Dearborn Fire Station Two, 19800 Outer Drive (north of Michigan Avenue).

A variety of interesting, family-friendly activities will be offered. Everything is free.

· Meet and talk with Dearborn firefighters.
· Try on real firefighters’ gear.
· Look at and sit in fire trucks and rescue ambulances.
· Enjoy food grilled up by the Allstate Champnella/Trombley Agency.
· Get an up-close look at a medical helicopter.
· Learn about the important work of the University of Michigan Trauma Burn Center.
· Watch demonstrations by the Dearborn Police bomb squad.
· Get important child safety seat information.
· Children can squirt a real fire hose.
· Face painting will be offered by the Dearborn High School Key Club.
