Restaurant safe cracked
A safe containing more than $2,500 was robbed between closing Sept. 25 and 8 a.m. Sept. 26 at Moe’s Southwest Grill, 3452 Fairlane Drive. The business has video surveillance, which police requested.
Disabled woman’s bicycle stolen
An unlocked three-wheel bicycle specially equipped for a woman with multiple sclerosis was stolen from a driveway in the 9000 block of Allen Road between the evening of Sept. 26 and the morning of Sept. 27.
Car break-ins happen during lunch
Two cars were broken into while their owners ate lunch at Fairlane Green restaurants on Tuesday.
A backpack containing keys, documents, a credit card and a Global Positioning System unit were taken from a 2008 Ford F-150 pickup truck parked near Panera Bread, 3112 Fairlane Drive, between 11:35 a.m. and 12:15 p.m.
A GPS and MP3 player were taken from a vehicle parked near Chili’s Grill and Bar, 3230 Fairlane Drive, between 12 and 1 p.m.

Car recovered, with damage
A Dodge Spirit, missing from an apartment building lot Sept. 27 in the 19000 block of Allen Road, was recovered in Detroit Wednesday morning.
It had a punched ignition, a missing radio face plate, two missing hubcaps, a damaged left front fender and a broken right rear window.
Purse with prescriptions taken
A pink Prada purse containing credit cards, a cell phone and the prescription drugs Vicodin and Soma was stolen Sept. 26 from a car parked in the 17000 block of Palmer.
The victim filed a report two days after the robbery so the prescription could be refilled.
Drunken driver crosses centerline
Officials believe a drunken driver going east on Oakwood near Harmon crossed the centerline and hit a westbound catering truck about 3 a.m. Wednesday.
Skid marks in the roadway confirmed victim accounts. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.

Thieves drive off with employee’s ride
A red 2003 Dodge Intrepid driven by an employee was stolen from a west parking lot at Rivergate Terrace and Health Care Center, 14141 Pennsylvania Road between 6 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Sept. 26.
Coupe recouped
A blue 1986 Pontiac coupe, stolen from an apartment parking lot in the 17000 block of Fort Street between midnight and 8 a.m. Sept. 27, was recovered in Monroe County at 9:50 a.m.
Open garage leads to tool theft
Tools worth over $700 were taken from a senior citizen’s residential garage in the 15000 block of Golfview Drive between Sept. 1 and Sept. 14.
The resident waited another two weeks to report the theft to make sure friends had not borrowed the tools.

Son steals mother’s car
A woman’s 2000 Pontiac Grand Am, stolen Sept. 25 by her 20-year-old son, was recovered when it was discovered that he was arrested in Allen Park for a driving offense and other charges.
Man steals body wash before trash dive
A man who stole a bottle of body wash from CVS/pharmacy, 1823 Fort St., about 10 a.m. Sept. 26 ended up in a trash receptacle in an unsuccessful attempt to elude authorities.
Police said he shoplifted the soap and then shoved a store employee before fleeing on foot north on Fort.
The man was apprehended inside a receptacle at Taco Bell, 1297 Fort. He has an extensive criminal history and was sent to the Wayne County Jail Tuesday pending an Oct. 15 appearance in 27th District Court.
Marijuana sold in middle school
Two 13-year-old boys were suspended by Wilson Middle School Principal Thomas Kell and released to their parents after students reported a marijuana sale in the boys’ bathroom Tuesday morning.
Marijuana was found in one boy’s locker, while the other possessed cash and coinage matching the described transaction.
