WYANDOTTE – Friday’s second annual October celebration of Unsung Heroes and Michigan Beers will benefit the city’s Honor Guard and Rapid Response Team.

The event is sponsored by the Wyandotte Business Association as part of its Third Friday activities. Free horse and carriage rides, as well as trolley tours, will facilitate visitor travel between businesses.

A $15 tasting mug also serves as the event ticket. Presale mugs may be purchased at Monroe Bank & Trust, 467 Eureka, and also at R. P. McMurphy’s, Traffic Jam, Downriver Stone Design and Rivers Edge Gallery, all on Biddle.

Each beer taster will receive a walking map showing locations serving beer, as well as other business sales and events. Each beer tasting business will feature a different brew.

A wristband and complimentary beer coupon is redeemable at an outside “afterglow” party at Elm and First Street, one block off Biddle, where food and live entertainment and additional beer will be on tap. The Chicago-style band Nine will play from from 7 to 11 p.m.
