TAYLOR — The Heritage Park Petting Farm is welcoming back the popular Whispering Pines exotic animal show from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. today.
Whispering Pines has added a new camel to its animal kingdom family. Gia, a female camel, will visit with fellow camel Gunther; rides will be available for a fee.
A menagerie of other animals from kangaroos to zebras will be featured, as well as opportunities to learn about life on the “wild” side from the experts who take care of them. Reptiles also will be there in a separate exhibit on the farm grounds. A corral of goats, sheep, llamas and alpacas will stand ready to be petted and photographed.
Organizers say Flutterby Faces will help turn children into exotic creatures through face-painting for an additional fee. Children also can make coloring sheets in the farm’s classroom.
Refreshments will be available for purchase. A free shuttle from the Sheridan Community Center will drop off riders at the front door of the farm’s visitor center.
Regular admission prices apply. For more information call the farm at (734) 374-5946.
