Frank Sumpter, 20, and Demetrius McWilliams, 19, on Oct. 24 were charged with one count each of armed robbery in 19th District Court while the juvenile suspect was charged with two counts of armed robbery. Authorities have not yet determined whether the juvenile suspect will be charged as an adult.

The officer began to pursue the minivan and in Detroit pulled the vehicle over. Williams was placed under arrest and an undisclosed amount of cash was recovered. He was arraigned Oct. 24 on one count each of bank robbery and armed robbery in 19th District Court. A preliminary examination of the evidence against him is scheduled for Nov. 6.

Dearborn Heights
Handguns, cash stolen in burglary
Three handguns and $200 in change were stolen from a house in the 4600 block of Cornell sometime between Oct. 12 and Oct. 25.

The resident called police when he noticed the change missing from a beer bottle change bank. After searching his house he realized the guns were also missing.

Police believe the culprit may have opened a window to unlock a door at the rear of the house in order to gain entry.
