Pet of the Week

wy-R-blue-closewebNikolai needs to feel safe
Nikolai is a 3-year-old Russian blue mix that Wyandotte Animal Pound volunteers say was mistreated by children who yanked on his tail, threw things at him and hit and punched him. Despite that, they say, he is a sweet cat. He will need a home that will dote on him and allow him to feel safe. The cat adoption fee is $60 cash and includes spaying or neutering, the first distemper vaccine, a combo test and a rabies vaccine if the animal is old enough. Cat adopters should either bring a carrier, or purchase a cardboard one from the shelter for $5. The pound is at 1170 Grove, between 11th and 13th streets. Adoption hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. For more information call (734) 324-4445 or go to www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI363.html.
