Harlowe Guthrie strikes a chord
Harlowe Guthrie, a domestic shorthair, arrived at the Wyandotte Animal Pound as a stray kitten. She cried in her cage the first few weeks she was there, and would reach through the bars to try to make contact. She clings to the volunteers when they cuddle her. She is a very neat cat, has been spayed, and is up to date on her shots. Cat adoption fees are $60 cash and include spaying or neutering, the first distemper vaccine, a combo test and a rabies vaccine if the animal is old enough. Cat adopters either should take a carrier, or purchase a cardboard carrier from the shelter for $5. The pound is at 1170 Grove, between 11th and 13th streets. Adoption hours are 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday.
