Wyandotte is the latest in a series of Downriver cities hit by tire slashings.

At least seven vehicles were targeted early Nov. 9 in the 1200 block of Lincoln and the 200 block of Antoine in that city.

Some tires had numerous punctures; others had only one. Three- to 10-year-old domestic and imported vehicles were targeted. A neighbor reported hearing voices about 4:30 a.m. but did not get up to investigate.

In Melvindale, three reports of slashed tires were reported the morning of Oct. 28, and a fourth incident was reported by the afternoon, police detective Cpl. Gary Bowerman said. A neighbor of one of the Melvindale victims later reported seeing two white males in their late teens driving a golden Nissan the night of the incidents.

Allen Park Detective Lt. James Wilkewitz said his department received 16 tire slashing reports on Oct. 29.
