Vehicles robbed of electronics
A car stereo was stolen from a red 1994 Pontiac Sunbird convertible parked in the 8000 block of Kolb between 5 p.m. Nov. 11 and 9 a.m. last Sunday.
A Global Positioning System unit, two cell phone chargers and a cell phone earpiece were stolen from a red 2008 Ford Escape parked in the 9000 block of Ruth between 6:15 p.m. Monday and 8:15 a.m. Tuesday.
A radio/CD player/DVD player were taken out of the dashboard of a gray 1998 Ford Expedition parked in the 14000 block of Champaign about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday. The passenger-side front window had been smashed. The victim saw the subject leave the scene in an old green Pontiac minivan.
Cash taken from veterans club
Bingo profits and other funds totaling about $700 were stolen between 11:30 p.m. Sunday and 8:20 a.m. Monday from American Legion Post 409, 6737 Allen Road.
A custodian discovered the rear door of the building had been damaged. Locked cabinet doors near the bar and serving area also had been forced open.

Ransom results in returned vehicle
A red 1997 Jeep Cherokee that had been missing since spring was recovered undamaged Nov. 14 in Taylor after a $40 ransom was paid to the owner’s mechanic’s purported drug dealer.
The vehicle went missing from the 2000 block of Grace May 12 and was originally with the amateur mechanic for engine work.
Tools taken from parked car
Two framing guns and a reciprocating saw worth nearly $700 were taken at 2:15 a.m. Saturday from a white 1999 Ford parked in the 3000 block of Melwood.
The owner, alerted when the car alarm went off, saw a subject flee in a gray minivan. Police searched the area but did not find anything matching the minivan’s description.
Gas station stiffed by drive-off
A woman left the BP gas station at 2625 Schaefer at 11 p.m. last Sunday without paying for $10 worth of gas. She was described as a thin blond in her early 20s and was driving a Ford Taurus.

Lincoln larceny
An AM/FM/CD and DVD player, amplifiers and an MP3 player were stolen from a black 2002 Lincoln between 7:30 p.m. Monday and 5:35 a.m. Tuesday in an apartment parking lot in the 14000 block of Brookview Drive.
The front passenger-side window had been shattered and the dashboard damaged.
Car disappears
A dark green 1997 Pontiac Grand Am was stolen from outside a Greentrees Apartment building sometime between 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.
No keys were missing, and the vehicle was paid off.

Knife fight in school parking lot
Pulling a knife on his mother’s boyfriend in the parking lot of Roosevelt High School landed a 14-year-old boy in a juvenile jail cell the morning of Nov. 12.
The boy was leaving the school with his mother and her boyfriend about 9:30 a.m. that day when the man asked him to empty his pockets.
The boy then pulled out the knife and started swinging it at the man. The mother called police, who disarmed the youth and put him in a patrol car. Fire Department personnel performed first aid on the two male combatants at the scene.
Door glass smashed, cash register taken
The cash register of Sam’s Quick Stop, 888 Ford Avenue, was discovered missing around 8 a.m. Nov. 12.
The front door glass was smashed out with a rock, which allowed the thief to enter.
The business owner did not know how much money was in the cash register. He will have his son check on the availability of surveillance video.
