LINCOLN PARK – Santa Claus will be the guest star at today’s Holiday Market put on by the Fort Visger CDC Farmers Market.
He will arrive at noon, greeting children and providing photo opportunities for parents until 2 p.m. The Holiday Market will also feature:
• A booth hosted by Lincoln Park’s Fantasyland will serve free hot chocolate and pass out candy canes to children.
• Lincoln Park Goodfellows will have a gift box for toy drop-offs.
• Holiday music, courtesy of Starr DJ Systems of Lincoln Park, will be played throughout the market to get everyone in the holiday spirit.
• An all-day raffle with prizes of gift certificates and other items.
Farmers, specialty food vendors and crafters also will be back.
Farmers Norris Stephens of Milan and Sam Parise of Saline and Fairview will be selling holiday wreaths. Shoppers also can pick up a large jar of Parise’s honey for the winter months. Ruth Fleig of Fleig Farms of Ida will sell produce with her family.
Organizers say the Holiday Market is a good opportunity for shoppers to buy items from the farmers and specialty food vendors for their Thanksgiving and Christmas tables, as well as get a jump-start on their Christmas shopping with the crafters.
The Farmers Market is sponsored by the Fort Visger Community Development Corp. and the Lincoln Park Downtown Development Authority.
