Riverview annual tree lighting ceremony

December 5, 2009 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

Riverview held its annual tree lighting ceremony at 6 p.m. Monday. With snow in short supply, Santa Claus arrived by fire truck instead of sled. Mayor Tim Durand gave Santa a key to the city, and the 73-member high school band, under the direction of William Beson, supplied a steady stream of holiday tunes. Inside the City Hall complex punch and cookies, kid-friendly crafts and the high school choir, under the direction of Tim Loszewski, made the wait for Santa more bearable.
