TAYLOR – A one-day seminar on how to live a stress-free life through yoga is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Taylor Recreation Center, 22805 Goddard Road.
Connie Fedel of Taylor Yoga will present tools on how to reduce stress, improve mental clarity, get balanced, increase and maintain high energy levels throughout the day, improve the quality of sleep and optimize health and vitality. Participants also will learn the benefits of eating healthy.
“A lot of people are under more stress than they’ve experienced in a long time,” Fedel said. “The reality of the situation is the stress lives in the five inches between your ears. It’s not the problems, it’s the way we relate to the problems. Yoga brings youth to the body, the mind and the spirit. When yoga is practiced on a regular basis, anyone can enhance his or her experience of life.”
No yoga experience is necessary. The seminar will include on-the-mat practice, with each participant experiencing individual growth.
“A lot of it we do with our eyes closed, so we don’t have to worry about people observing our own practice,” Fedel said. “Yoga is a very individual thing. It’s people taking an interest in their own health and well-being.”
The participation donation is $35. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
Advanced registration is taking place at the Recreation Center. Call (313) 292-YOGA (9642) to sign up or to learn more about the program.
