Allen Park
Women try to take scents

Police discovered warrants at 4 p.m. last Sunday for a 20-year-old Detroit woman shoplifting perfume and liquor at Meijer, 3565 Fairlaine Drive, under both her alias and real name.

The record check resulted in the additional arrest of her boyfriend, a 23-year-old Detroit man.

Two Caucasian women in their late 20s escaped in a blue Ford Probe after one took a $15 bottle of perfume from T.J. Maxx about 4:30 p.m. last Sunday. A store employee noted the license plate number and officials will review store surveillance video.

SUV warmed up for theft
A burgundy 2008 Mercury Mountaineer left running and unattended at 7 a.m. Monday in the 3900 block of Harlow was driven away by two young men.

Shovel may have been robbery cover
Three teen boys, with just one snow shovel between them, may have been soliciting snow shoveling jobs to find an unoccupied house to rob last Monday.

Gold and silver jewelry worth $10,000, a GPS unit, a DVD player, and an electronic gaming system were stolen between 7:15 a.m. and 5:15 p.m. last Monday from a home in the 3600 block of Harlow.

A screwdriver possibly used to pry open a door and a snow shovel left behind were tagged into evidence.

Computers, cards gone in break-in
Two flat-screen televisions, a PlayStation 3, a computer and monitor, a compact laptop and collectible baseball cards were taken between 5 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday from a house in the 15000 block of Hanfor.

The thief may have entered through an unlocked back window.

Melvindale
Thief bypasses electronics for cash, jewelry
A thief bypassed two televisions and two laptops for $450 cash and $3,000 in jewelry from a house in the 4000 block of Dearborn Jan. 6.

Bleached bill passed in bar
A 26-year-old Detroit man passed a bleached $5 bill on Jan. 6 at Mel Bar, 17993 Allen Road.

The bill had been printed into a counterfeit $100 denomination. The man fled the bar after being confronted with the counterfeiting, but was later identified and arrested.

The U.S. Secret Service was informed about the counterfeit bill.

Garage grab
A snowblower, four-wheeler, weight machine and generator were stolen from a garage in the 24000 block of Outer Drive between 7:45 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 7.

Footprints and a pair of gloves were left behind .

Cash, shotgun, TV and truck taken
A blue 1999 Ford F-150, $4,000 cash, a 20-gauge shotgun and a 42-inch television were taken Monday from a house in the 17000 block of Eddon.

The side door had been forced open.

Cold crime
A furnace was reported missing Monday from a vacant house in the 19000 block of Wood.

It was last seen during a Dec. 28 inspection.

Riverview
Senior’s Neon nabbed
A blue 2000 Plymouth Neon belonging to an 82-year-old woman was stolen from the 13000 block of Pennsylvania between the morning of Jan.11 and about 2 p.m. Jan. 12.

Three vehicles broken into
Two vehicles were broken into at Greentrees Apartments in the 19000 block of Fort on Jan. 8.

A CD stereo was taken from the dash of a green 1997 Chevrolet Blazer, while a bag of inexpensive toys were taken from the black 2008 Dodge Challenger.

In the 17000 block of Fort, nearly $3,500 worth of audio electronics were reported missing about 8 a.m. Jan. 8 from a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix.

The driver’s-side windows of all three vehicles were broken for access.

Wyandotte
SUV stolen

A Cadillac Escalade was stolen from the 3200 block of Third between 7 p.m. Jan. 7 and about noon Dec. 8.

Cash missing from club
A total of $400 cash was taken from American Legion Post 75, 758 Oak, when a member opened up the building last Monday morning.

The reporting member suspects it was an inside job.

Auto ransacked
A white 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix parked at 17th and Goddard was missing its stereo Wednesday morning.

The lock on the driver’s-side door had been defeated.
