Ford president, CEO to speak at chamber’s business breakfast

February 13, 2010 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN— Ford Motor Co. President and Chief Executive Officer Alan Mulally will be the keynote speaker at the Dearborn Chamber of Commerce Business Builders Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. March 2 at the Dearborn Inn.

Tickets are $30 for chamber members and $35 for nonmembers. Corporate tables are available for $400. For tickets or more information go to www.dearbornchamber.org.

Mulally is credited with the restructuring plan that led to the company’s first profitable quarter in two years.

Mulally came to Ford after a successful tenure at the Boeing Co. and Boeing Commercial Airplanes as president and CEO. His One Ford concept — one team, one plan, one goal, one Ford — remains the company’s priority going forward. Ford was the only Big Three member not to take a government bailout last year.

“In spite of the headwinds we still face, we are more excited than ever about the incredible ‘new Ford’ we are creating,” Mulally said. “The world continues to understand the phenomenal transformation that this great American icon is undergoing. I believe they will come to share the excitement the Ford team feels every day as we work together to create a dynamic global and profitable enterprise.”

“We are thrilled to host Alan Mulally and showcase the accomplishments of Ford Motor Co. under his leadership, especially as it relates to Dearborn,” said chamber President Jennifer Knott Giering. “We are honored that he has chosen this event to showcase the successes of this valuable institution to our members and the community.”

The chamber’s newly named Business Builders Breakfast (formerly Economic Outlook Breakfast) in March is one of four planned for the year. The March 2 event is sponsored by Ford Motor Land Development Corp.
