New toddler program available in September 2010
HEIGHTS – Parents of toddlers through middle school students are invited to attend an Open House at Dearborn Heights Montessori Center from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24. The school, which includes preschool through eighth grade, is at 466 N. John Daly.
Families interested in receiving more details about Montessori education are also welcome to attend for an informative parent meeting from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., following the open house. Teachers will explain programs and answer questions about extended day kindergarten, lower and upper elementary and middle school.
“Our teachers will also be giving tours and answering questions during the open house,” said Laura Springer, admissions director. “We are especially excited to let the community know about our new Toddler class that will begin in September for children from 18 months through 3 years of age.”
Springer said the Montessori toddler program is specially designed to meet the developmental needs of this age group within a supportive and nurturing environment.
Children are welcome to accompany parents to the open house, and light refreshments will be served. Child care will be available during the parent meeting.
In addition to preschool, kindergarten, elementary and middle school program, Dearborn Heights Montessori Center provides before and after school day care. The school also offers a theme-based summer program that includes daily math and language, art, physical education and technology, and lots of arts and crafts, picnics, outdoor time, music, stories, games and field trips.
