Give Calandra your heart and a home
Calandra is an older dog that Wyandotte’s animal control officer rescued while she was wandering along the city’s railroad tracks. Wyandotte Animal Pound volunteers believe she is part Italian greyhound and part Chihuahua. She is a gentle dog, and the loud barking of the bigger dogs in the kennel room brings out her timid side. She would be happiest in a quiet home where she can snuggle in her dog bed. Dog adoption fees are $85 (in cash) and include spaying/neutering, first distemper vaccine and a rabies vaccine and heartworm test if the animal is old enough. The pound is at 1170 Grove, between 11th and 13th streets. Adoption hours are 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, and Friday; 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday; and 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday. For more information call (734) 324-4445, or go to www.petfinder.com/shelters/MI363.html.
