The Golden Valley Crusaders perform in September 2007 at Rudy’s Bluegrass Festival. The group will perform at Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church following the 10:15 a.m. worship service March 7.
Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church will host a bluegrass musical program and barbecue dinner at the church, 24110 Cherry Hill, immediately following the 10:15 a.m. worship service March 7.
The Golden Valley Crusaders, a bluegrass gospel group from Golden Valley, N.C., will be featured.
Established in 1970, the group still has the same goal: performing and spreading God’s love through song. To their credit, the Golden Valley Crusaders recently received the “Bluegrass Gospel Group of the Year” award from the Carolinas Country Bluegrass and Gospel Music Hall of Fame in January.
There will be no charge for the Southern-Style Pulled Pork Barbecue dinner or Bluegrass concert, however, donations will be accepted to help cover the group’s travel expenses.
“This is an opportunity to bring family, neighbors and friends to church followed by good food, good music and good fellowship,” said the Rev. Drew Tomberlin Jr., senior pastor of the church.
