TAYLOR — The Police Department’s Records Bureau has reduced its public hours.

Effectively immediately, the Records Bureau will be open from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. The change is being made in response to staffing reductions.

The following changes also have been made pertaining to police reports and other services:

•Police reports: An information sheet/request is available in the lobby of the department. Customers can leave the completed form in the locked drop box in the lobby, and their police report request will be processed.

•Traffic reports: Traffic reports are available online at https://payments.clemis.org/extservices.

•Record clearance: A request for a criminal conviction history can be obtained by going to http://apps.michigan.gov/ICHAT/Home.aspx.

•Request for return property: Anyone seeking to have property returned to them must complete a request form and then leave it in the locked drop box of the Police Department lobby, where the form is available.

•Pistol purchase permit: Applications for pistol permits are available from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday to Friday in the Records Bureau.

•Concealed pistol license: All CPL requests are handled by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. Applications are available online at the Wayne County Sheriff Web site or at the front desk of the Police Department.

•Fingerprinting: Fingerprints are available for Taylor residents only. To make an appointment call (734) 374-1510. For 23rd District Court-ordered requests, report to the Police Department front desk.
