Stanley is steady, ready for a home
Stanley is a 3- to 4-year-old yellow Labrador retriever mix who was found as a stray in Lincoln Park by an animal control officer.

Forrest Gump a runner
Like his movie namesake, Forrest Gump likes to run. The 1-year-old black Labrador retriever mix was rescued as a stray in Allen Park.

Bandit will steal your heart
Bandit, is a 5-year-old chow mix found as a stray in Lincoln Park.

The Allen Park Animal Shelter, 16850 Southfield Road, is housed in the back of a large blue building east of the City Hall parking lot. Shelter hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The shelter is closed Wednesday. Cat adoptions cost $45, which includes a $15 adoption fee and a $30 spay/neuter deposit. Adopters receive a discount certificate for post-adoption veterinary care at Dix Animal Hospital, 1127 Dix in Lincoln Park.
