Downtowns to add signage, kiosks

May 8, 2010 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — The city’s east and west downtowns soon will have some new signs to point visitors in the right directions and provide them with information about area attractions.

The upgrades are made possible by a $25,000 grant awarded last week by the Michigan Economic Development Corporation as well as a $15,000 contribution from the city’s downtown activities fund.

City officials said that the bulk of the money will go toward a new electronic sign at the Dearborn Welcome Center at Bryant Branch Library, 22100 Michigan Ave.

The rest of the money will go toward installing informational kiosks in both the east and west downtown districts.
