Tommy needs TLC
Tommy is a 6- to 12-month old gray and white domestic medium hair mixed breed kitten who was found as a stray in Lincoln Park. He has been at the shelter since April 16.

Mya is a young female adult gray and white domestic shorthair mix who was found as a stray in Melvindale.

Max needs a lap
Max is a large brown and white tabby and American shorthair mix who was found as a stray May 5 in Melvindale.

The Allen Park Animal Shelter, 16850 Southfield Road, is housed in the back of a large blue building east of the City Hall parking lot. Shelter hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday, and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday and Friday. The shelter is closed Wednesdays. Cat adoptions cost $45, which includes a $15 adoption fee and a $30 spay/neuter deposit. Adopters receive a discount certificate for post-adoption veterinary care at Dix Animal Hospital, 1127 Dix in Lincoln Park.
