TAYLOR — Resident families are invited to Free Family Day — a day of fun in the sun — from noon to 5 p.m. June 19 at Northwest Park Pool, 6000 Duncan St., south of Van Born Road.
City residents are invited for a free day of swimming and family activities. Northwest Pool is a zero-depth entry pool that is suited for toddlers or individuals with disabilities.
Activities will include an assortment of outdoor family games and contests, such as three-legged races, egg and spoon races, a water balloon toss and pie eating.
There will be inflatable attractions, a disc jockey playing children’s favorite songs and even a barbecue under the new pavilion at Northwest Park.
About Northwest Pool: The pool opened May 29 and will be open weekends only. Beginning June 20, the pool will be open daily (weather permitting) through Labor Day. Open swimming hours will be noon to 7 p.m. Monday and Wednesday and noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday and Thursday, through Sunday.
Admission and pool passes: Daily admission is $5 for residents and $6 for nonresidents. Seasonal pool passes are available for purchase: $85 for residents and $100 for nonresidents. Each pass includes two adults and two children under 18. The fee is $20 for each additional child.
Senior swimming: Senior swim is held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Mondays and Wednesdays. Admission is $2 per Taylor senior (age 55 and older) and $3 for nonresidents.
Parent/tot swimming: Parent/tot swimming sessions are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursdays and Saturdays June 24 through Aug. 14. Passes are $40 for Taylor residents and $50 for nonresidents. Each pass includes parents and two children 5 and younger. A lifeguard will be on duty.
Water Aerobics: Registration is under way for water aerobics. Each eight-week session will begin June 21 and run through Aug. 11 and be taught by a certified instructor. Session 1 is scheduled for 7 to 8 p.m. Mondays. Session 2 is set for 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays. The cost is $48 per session. The drop-in rate is $7 per session.
