Register now for annual children’s fishing derby

TAYLOR — Registration is under way for the 22nd annual Taylor Rotary Fishing Derby, scheduled for next Sunday at Coan Lake in Heritage Park.

Advance registration is required at the Parks and Recreation Office, 22805 Pardee Road. The entry fee is $2 per child. Each child receives a T-shirt and refreshments. Space is limited to the first 100 children who sign up.

Check-in on Fishing Derby Day begins at 8 a.m. and fishing takes place from 9 to 11 a.m. The event features two age groups: the Junior Division for children 5 to 8 and a Senior Division for children 9 to 12. Prizes will be awarded in both divisions.

One fishing pole is allowed per child; participants must being their own bait. For more information call (734) 374-3906 weekdays.
