DEARBORN – Camp Dearborn’s annual summer tradition – the Beach Bash, held in celebration of Independence Day – will take place July 3 this year.
This year’s open air concert will be provided by Riot House, a popular local band. The band plays a great mix of ’80s, ’90s and current rock. The concert is held at the camp’s public beach from 6 to 10 p.m. and followed by a fireworks display over the lake.
In addition to the Beach Bash, visitors that day can enjoy acres of picnic sites equipped with tables and grills, a half mile swimming beach, paddle boat rentals, fishing and mini golf.
The Camp Dearborn Canteen will be open with food available for purchase.
Traditionally, the Beach Bash draws large crowds in addition to the campers in the park.
Day visitors can expect long delays for exiting the park after the fireworks. The Oakland County Sherriff’s Department and the camp staff will work together to keep the exit process safe and orderly.
