Spaghetti dinner will help pay for woman’s growing medical bills

June 19, 2010 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TAYLOR — A spaghetti dinner next weekend will raise funds to help a local woman pay for medical bills that keep piling up.

The dinner for Regina Lloyd is scheduled for 2 to 6 p.m. next Sunday at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall at 165590 Pine Street, just down the street from City Hall.

Lloyd suffers from asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, as well as leg and nerve damage from chemotherapy performed after she was diagnosed with breast cancer. Her immune system is very low and her activity is limited. Unable to work, Lloyd lost her health insurance.

Tickets for the benefit dinner cost $7 for adults, $4 for children 6 to 12 and are free for children 5 and younger. The meal will include spaghetti, salad and bread.

The day will include door prizes, live entertainment, a 50-50 raffle, a silent raffle, a cake walk, face painting for children and gift baskets. For more information call (734) 287-6144.
