Veterans honor Duvall teacher, class

The former commander of the Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council, Leo Barrett (back row, third from left), honored Duvall Elementary School Principal Glenn Maleyko (back row, right) and first-grade teacher Joanne Strez (back row, second from left) and her class recently for traveling to the John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit and delivering 160 fruit baskets and 180 thank you cards to express gratitude for patients’ military service to the United States. Also on hand are Dearborn Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. (back row, left), Barrett, Mrs. Barrett and Maleyko.
