DEARBORN — An Oak Park man was arraigned Thursday on several charges stemming from an altercation that left one local man dead and three others injured at the Dearborn Ice Skating Center, 14900 Ford Road.
Appearing before 19th District Chief Judge Mark Somers, Alexander T. Yono, 30, was charged with second-degree murder, three counts of assault with intent to murder and felonious assault. The maximum sentence for the first two charges is life in prison, while felonious assault carries a four-year maximum.
Yono was denied bond and a preliminary examination of the evidence against him is scheduled for Aug. 5.
The incident occurred about 2:15 a.m. July 13 in the DISC parking lot. Police were dispatched on reports of a large fight involving passengers of a limousine that had used the lot as a central drop point.
Witnesses told police Yono had been aggressive for much of the night – which was a birthday celebration – and upon returning to the lot produced a knife and stabbed four people, killing 18-year-old Mohamad Abboud. The other victims included two 18-year-old men and a 17-year-old boy.
