Silent auction will benefit American Council of the Blind

HEIGHTS — The American Council of the Blind hill host its first Silent Auction Sept. 3 to 6 at the organization’s Thrift Store and Donation Center, 23830 Ford Road.

Bids must be made in person at the store between 9 a.m. Sept. 3 and 5 p.m. Sept. 6. Winners will be notified by phone. Items must be picked up by 8 p.m. Sept. 7 or they will go to next-highest bidders.

Items available for bidding were donated by businesses including the Detroit Lions, Red Wings and Tigers; The Henry Ford; Frankenmuth Bavarian Inn Lodge; Detroit Zoo; Sanders; Mechanical Heating & Cooling; Mystique Day Spa; and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Snacks and refreshments will be available during the event, as will a 50 percent off storewide sale. All furniture will be 25 percent off.
