TRENTON — The Trenton Public Schools Board of Education recently announced two appointments.
Rodney Wakeham was named assistant principal at Trenton High School. He began his educational career in 1985 at Houghton-Portage and Adams Township School Districts, where he taught science for 10 years.
In 1995 Wakeham began teaching science at Trenton High and in 1997 he was named Science Department chairman, a position he will continue to hold.
He has served on many committees while at Trenton, including but not limited to the trimester committee, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools accreditation committee, the technology committee, and the curriculum committee. Wakeham also led a committee of teachers who helped design the remodeling of the science rooms at Trenton High to ensure that they met the need of current and future students.
Wakeham received his bachelor of science degree in 1985 with a major in medical technology. In 2002 he participated in the Wayne Regional Educational Service Agency’s Academy for Aspiring Principals, and in 2008 he earned his master of arts degree from Concordia University with a major in educational leadership.
Bret Woodley was named athletic director and Social Studies Department chairman. Woodley began his educational career in 2001 at Southgate Anderson High School as a Social Studies teacher. In 2008 he became the Social Studies Department chairman at Trenton High. He has coached swimming at both Southgate and Trenton.
Woodley received his bachelor of arts degree in 1994 from Alma College with a major in history and a minor in political science. In 2005 he earned a master of arts degree from Wayne State University, where he majored in educational leadership.
