Reindeer with lighted antlers are just a small part of the extensive Lincoln Park Christmas Fantasyland display that awaits visitors at the city’s band shell.
LINCOLN PARK — Fantasyland is now open, and Santa Claus is waiting.
Local families are invited to come see the classic displays and the mix of what organizers say are soon-to-be classics.
A holiday tradition since 1964, Fantasyland has been the place to see a holiday display and let the children have fun and meet Santa, all in a warm building.
“It’s still an affordable family tradition, with an entry fee of just $1,” “Elf” Don Van Cleave said. Digital pictures with Santa cost $3 or two for $5.
Attendees may bring their own camera if money is tight, and organizers say Santa likes two- and three-generation photos bring the parents and grandparents too. Visitors also are advised not to forget letters for Santa, which his elves will collect from the mailbox every day.
Fantasyland is at the Lincoln Park Bandshell, 3240 Ferris. Special holiday hours are 4 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
