Theater set to screen ‘Arsenic and Old Lace’

DETROIT — The Redford Theatre, 17360 Lahser, will present “Arsenic and Old Lace” at 8 p.m. Jan. 28 and 29.

It is just north of Grand River in Detroit’s Old Redford neighborhood.

Admission is $4. The box office opens one hour before show time. Parking is free.

The 1944 comedy stars Cary Grant, Josephine Hull, Peter Lorre and Raymond Massey.

The performances also will include a classic cartoon and live piano and organ music. The cartoon will be “Willoughby’s Magic Hat” from 1943.

Pianists Chris Cavanaugh and Nancy Pennington will play songs in the lobby for an hour before showtime. In
the auditorium, organist Jennifer Candea will perform the national anthem, followed by 30 minutes of lively music.
