Detroit Tigers television announcer Mario Impemba (left) interviews pitcher Justin Verlander on Thursday at the Midtown Taylor Fire Station, one of the stops on the team’s Winter Caravan promotional tour. Taylor was included as a stop by team officials as a way to honor Cpl. Matthew Edwards and Auxiliary Police Lt. Dan Kromer, both of whom were killed in the line of duty last year. Impemba described the fallen officers as “true heroes.”
