Dearborn Chamber of Commerce President

The Dearborn Chamber of Commerce was asked to assist with outreach efforts to support the American Heart Association’s “Go Red for Women” campaign held each February.

This campaign brings to light a silent killer in America, heart disease. The more communities reached, the more we can educate women about heart health, potentially saving lives.

I am happy to report that a number of local businesses will be participating in this year’s outreach campaign. Parklane Towers, located off Hubbard Drive east of Southfield, will be aglow in red the entire month of February. In addition, Les Stanford Chevrolet Cadillac and Fairlane Ford will be showcasing their finest red vehicles in prominent areas in their lots along well traveled Michigan Avenue. Village Ford will donate $25 to the American Heart Association for every vehicle pur-chased Feb 2 to 4 and those who purchase a vehicle will be eligible to win a $500 Coach purse.

Also, The Dearborn Symphony Orchestra will be supporting the campaign with a special reception preceding its annual pops concert Friday. For more information on the concert or ticket pricing, go to www.dearbornsymphony.org.

Lastly, the Dearborn Chamber has partnered with the Detroit Medical Center in the innaugural Love Yourself, Love Your Style Event Feb. 2 at The Dearborn Inn. The event starts with a panel discussion on women’s heart health and ends with a fabulous fashion show.

Tickets are just $25 each and you can register at www.dearbornchamber.org. For information on how you can get involved in the Go Red for Women Campaign or National Wear Red Day (Feb 4), go to www.goredforwomen.org.
