County DPS to collect hazardous, electronic waste

Electronic waste collections will be held from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Riverview Land Preserve, 20863 Grange and April 16 at Henry Ford Centennial Library, 16301 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.

Items accepted from Wayne County residents and small businesses will include computers; televisions; VCR and DVD players; keyboards and mice; stereos and speakers; cell phones; telephones; microwave ovens; Christmas lights; game consoles; handheld electronic devices; and cables.

Hazardous waste collection is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 18 at Henry Ford Community College, 5101 Evergreen Road, Dearborn. Wayne County residents may dispose of unwanted household chemicals including paints, stains, floor-care items, furniture polish, bathroom cleaners, lawn and garden chemicals, antifreeze, fluorescent and compact fluorescent light bulbs, noncontrolled pharmaceutical waste and old computers and televisions.
