Police seek suspects in stabbing

March 5, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — A man was stabbed outside his Chestnut Street house this morning after interrupting what police said was an attempted break-in.

The homeowner told police he was alerted to someone being outside the house by his dog about 11:23 a.m. He said he went outside to investigate the source of the commotion when he was assaulted by two men. The attackers then fled on foot

When police arrived, they found the man lying in his driveway, suffering from stab sounds. He was taken to Oakwood Hospital and Medical where he underwent surgery.

The victim described his attackers as two black males with medium builds, 18 to 25 years of age, wearing blue jeans, black coats and black hats.

Police are asking the public’s help in capturing the attackers. Anyone who may be of assistance is asked to contact Detective Sgt. Tom Lance at (313) 943-2292.

“These types of crimes are the ones that the department will utilize all of its collective resources to investigate and prosecute,” Police Chief Ronald Haddad said.
