March 12, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

Diamond Demetrius Wells
DEARBORN — Two suspects were arrested Tuesday in connection with a March 4 purse snatching at a CITGO gas station, 7954 Greenfield.

One of the suspects, 18-year-old Diamond Demetrius Wells, was charged by Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy with larceny from person, a 10-year felony. The second suspect was not named or charged.

Police responded about 10 p.m. March 4 to a report of a purse snatching. The victim told them that her purse containing cash, credit cards and other personal property, was taken from her as she left the gas station. The suspect escaped on foot.

Police Chief Ronald Haddad said his department will continue to take an aggressive posture toward identifying, swiftly apprehending and prosecuting criminals.

Wells was arraigned by 19th District Court Judge William Hultgren, who set bond at $10,000. A preliminary examination of the evidence against him is scheduled for Friday.
