Beech Daly to close during Crestwood evacuation drill

April 9, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

HEIGHTS – Crestwood High School will be participating in a hazard drill about 11:30 a.m. tomorrow.

Beech Daly Road will be closed between Wilson and Ford Road while students cross the streets. District officials advise residents to stay away from the area.

Also participating in the drill will be Dearborn Heights Police and Fire departments, who will be securing the school and monitoring the evacuation. Wayne County Regional Education Services Agency officials also will monitor the drill.

The high school students will move to the Church of the Divine Child, 1055 N. Silvery Lane. Special needs students will be transported by bus.

Following the drill, students will return to class.

The drill is designed to prepare students and the surrounding community in the event of a massive chlorine leak in the school’s swimming pool.
