Fans of “10 Things I Hate About You” will be happy to find Benjamin Stone (William “Blank” Blankenship) in the new ABC Family series “The Nine Lives of Chloe King.” Based on Celia Thomson’s books, it premieres June 14. Skyler Samuels plays Chloe King, who learns she’s part of an ancient race who have been hunted by human assassins for millennia. … Benjamin moved to Hollywood after a chance meeting with Hollywood agent Mara Santino. Three appearances in “10 Things,” an Audi commercial on the Olympics and voiceovers in three “Harry Potter” video games followed. His agent became his manager, and a cattle-call audition turned into a reading for the network brass. The obvious chemistry between Stone and Samuels sealed the deal, and now we’ll be glued to our TVs on Tuesday nights watching this new supernatural thriller.
TNT is shooting a new version of “Dallas.” The reboot will feature the next generation of the Ewing clan. Josh Henderson (“Desperate Housewives”) plays J.R Ewing’s son John Ross; Jesse Metcalfe (also “Desperate Housewives”) plays Christopher, the adopted son of Bobby and Pam Ewing (Patrick Duffy and Victoria Principal); and Jordana Brewster (“The Fast and The Furious”) is in the middle of their love triangle. Larry Hagman (J.R.), Patrick Duffy (Bobby) and Linda Gray (Sue Ellen) will guest star in the pilot.
Rumors are everywhere that ABC is about to cancel “All My Children.” “AMC” and Susan Lucci fans want to know why ABC would move the soap to L.A. and then cancel it eight months later! Speculators say ABC would never cancel its flagship soap, “General Hospital,” and that “One Life to Live” never goes over budget, so “All My Children” is the most vulnerable. They reason it’s cheaper to move “One Life to Live” to California and replace “AMC” with a talk show, even though ABC still needs to find a replacement for Oprah Winfrey when she moves her show to OWN (the Oprah Winfrey Network). Recent ratings show “AMC” with only 2.3 million viewers daily — the lowest rated of the three ABC soaps. If you’re a fan of Susan Lucci or “AMC,” you’d better start writing those cards and letters to ABC demanding they keep “All My Children” on the air.
Now that Elizabeth Taylor has gone to Hollywood Heaven, THE topic at A-list parties is … “Who are the five biggest stars of all time. Consensus seems to be Garbo, Monroe, Garland, Gable and Taylor. Runners up could be: Harlow, Sinatra, Elvis, Hepburn and Streisand. Guess you have to be known by only one name to be a legend! What do you think? Let us know.
