What’s happening in Dearborn Heights?

Dearborn Heights Montessori Center (DHMC) is now accepting applications for its summer camp program. DHMC offers nine weeks of educational and culturally-rich programs beginning June 20 through Aug. 19 on its campus located at 466 N. John Daly in Dearborn Heights. Half and full day programs are available for toddler, preschool/kindergarten and elementary children. Camp runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. with hours available before and after camp for families needing extra hours. The building opens at 7 a.m. and closes at 6 p.m. The program is open to the public and available to all children between the ages of 18 months and 12 years old. The Kiwanis Club of Dearborn Heights in conjunction with the Parks & Recreation Department will be holding their annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 23 at the Canfield Community Center, 1801 N. Beech Daly in Dearborn Heights. The activity is for children ages 1 to 10 and will begin at 11 a.m. For more information contact Mark Slater at (313) 565-8888, Ext. 123.

Dearborn Heights Civic Theatre Announces its 2011-12 Season. Performances include Maurice Sendak & Carole King’s “Really Rosie,” Neil Simon’s “Biloxi Blues,” and “You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown.” For more information go to the DHCT Facebook page or the DHCT Website: www.dhctstage.org.
