Third-graders from Whitmore-Bolles Elementary School march in the annual School-City Beautiful Parade around the school Wednesday. The students, from Madelyn Haddad and Robin Philpott’s class carried a “Fix Up” sign, cutouts of tools and signs with hammers and saws. The students’ projects were meant to inform residents about keeping up their houses and properties, which was the original theme of the annual series of parades when they started in the 1950s.
